Rundale Palace and Bauska Castle

Nestled in southern Latvia's fertile Zemgale Plains, Rundale Palace is a Baroque and Rococo masterpiece. Built between 1736 and 1740 as a summer retreat for Duke Ernst Johann Biron, a favourite of Empress Anna Ioannovna, it was designed by Russian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Interior splendours, shaped by sculptor Johann Michael Graff and painters Francesco Martini and Carlo Zucchi, emerged from 1765 to 1768. Explore the palace and its French-style park independently or join a guided tour with our experts. Specify your preference when making reservations.
